Advent Challenge – Day 9 – Holy Heroes Advent Adventure!

Before Advent began I came across an ad for Holy Heroes on the National Catholic Register.  If you sign up for their Advent Adventures mailing list you receive free activities and videos to your email for every day of Advent.

Every day you get links to videos put together by the “Holy Heroes Advent Adventure Guides”, a family of  8 children, that take you through learning parts of the Mass and its responses, the Jesse tree symbol of the day, and other fun little tidbits.  Prior to Sunday, there is always a video walking through the upcoming Sunday’s Gospel readings.  There are also links to colouring pages and other activities, lists of sacrifices for the Sacrifice Manger, blessings and prayers for the Advent wreath and an audio for doing a “decade a day” of the Rosary.

If you have a child under age 12, this is a really great resource.  My son who is almost 3 absolutely loves this, and asks every morning to watch “Holy Heroes” after his breakfast.  Some of it he’s a bit too young for, but I’m often surprised at the amount of information he narrates back to me later in the day.

It’s quick, it’s easy and, the best part, it does all the work for you!

What else we did for Advent today:
